CCP offers recognition by the NCSC for cyber security competence
The National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) updated Certified Cyber Professional Assured Service launches today. NCSC have responded to feedback from Cyber Security professionals and industry - and people will now be certified against specialisms rather than roles. Individuals can achieve recognition as a Risk Management specialist, with the Security Architecture specialism launching at a later date.
Certified Cyber Professional (CCP) recognition sets the standard for cyber security professionals in the UK by enabling professionals to demonstrate their Cyber Security competence, knowledge and skills against NCSC’s exacting standard.
APMG is a Certification Body for CCP – certifying individuals who meet the National Cyber Security Centre’s standards.
Richard Pharro, CEO APMG International commented,
“APMG International has worked with NCSC for over 9 years and is delighted to be continuing the partnership with the relaunched CCP. This recognition allows cyber security professionals to demonstrate their expertise and knowledge in cyber security matches NCSC’s high standards – proving their competency. Achieving CCP confirms the applicant’s specialist knowledge and expertise in effectively delivering business benefits. CCP builds a cadre of highly skilled Cyber Security specialists that will help employers make informed choices when selecting staff, ensuring they employ not only the best qualified people for the job but those who will deliver the most benefits.”
CCP certification also results in eligibility to work on UK government networks and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) projects (subject to security clearances).
The National Cyber Security Centre and APMG look forward to launching additional CCP specialisms, including Security Architecture in 2021. Further information on CCP is available here.
