Information & Data Analysis

Lean practices have been employed by organizations across a wide variety of industries in order to optimize processes and performance, with the focus on speed, efficiency and removing waste.

Lean Green Belts are specialists in executing Lean projects, often related to lead time reduction.

With the right combination of specialist expertise and structured Lean methodology, the Lean Green Belt is equipped to achieve significant improvements in performance and quality.

Certify your ability to:

  • Understand current processes to know which steps are wasteful and which add value.
  • Improve processes to reduce cycle time and costs, increase revenue and improve collaboration.
  • Champion a Lean culture to sustain improved processes and build momentum for additional improvements in other areas of your organization.

Developed in partnership with the Lean Six Sigma Academy, our syllabus is based on the ‘Continuous Improvement Maturity Model’ (CIMM), a framework that guides an evolutionary staged approach for process improvement from an early stage.

Certification consists of an exam (theory) and practical assessment.

Lean Six Sigma Skill Sets

Lean Green Belt training and certification is underpinned by the Lean Six Sigma Academy (LSSA) Skill Sets, which are available to download from the LSSA website.

The Skill Sets determine what you are tested on in the exam and provide an outline of the requirements for the practical assessment.

In 2021, the Skill Sets were updated from version 2.4 to version 3.2 which has resulted in some minor changes to the Green Belt exam. If you have been studying against the requirements of v2.4 of the skill set, you will be able to book an exam based on this version until 31 March 2022. After this date, it will only be possible to order an exam based on version 3.2 of the LSSA skill sets.

FAQs

What is Lean Green Belt?

The principles of lean are used to optimise processes and performance with the focus on speed, efficiency and the removal of waste. The Lean Green Belt certification has been developed in partnership with the Lean Six Sigma Academy (LSSA) and is based on the ‘Continuous Improvement Maturity Model’ (CIMM), a framework that guides an evolutionary staged approach for process improvement from an early stage.

The purpose of the Green Belt qualification is to confirm that a candidate has sufficient knowledge, understanding and application of the Lean process improvement methodology, practice and analytical tools to be able to work effectively as the team leader of Lean process improvement projects or as a member of a Black Belt process improvement project, within an environment supporting Lean.

Candidates can gain certification against either or both the Theory and Practical levels. The Theory level involves undertaking a multiple-choice format exam and is a pre-requisite for the Practical level. The Practical level involves submitting one practical Lean project for assessment.
