What is APMG International’s AQRO scheme?

APMG International have partnered with the Active Qualified Human Resource Organization to develop the AQRO methodology which is a guidance, training, and certification scheme for resource management. The AQRO methodology is proven to enable organizations and individuals to better manage their resources by reducing the unplanned interruptions which are the biggest reason of working inefficiently.

The course will:

  • Lay the foundations for successful implementation of the AQRO methodology
  • Explains how AQRO can be planned and managed
  • Clarifies the different management styles needed for successful delivery of projects and BAU
  • Provide integration with process based methodologies, such as COBIT®5, AgilePM®, PRINCE2® and ITIL®
  • Makes sure the right person is doing the right work

How can I train for the AQRO examinations?

Training for AQRO is available from our network of Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) which are assessed and certified by APMG International. Find the full list of AQRO ATOs here.

Do I have to receive training to sit the exam?

No, however this is recommended. In addition to receiving accredited training, individuals also have the option of self-study to prepare for the examination. APMG International administers public exam sessions around the world to accommodate those who self-study.

How do I sit the exams?

Most, if not all AQRO accredited training organizations include the examinations as part of the associated training course. Alternatively, and for individuals that have self-studied, APMG administers public exam sessions around the world. Sessions are run at certain APMG International offices. There are four dedicated centers in the UK for public examinations, and in the United States we utilize the public library network to facilitate sessions.

How much does it cost to sit the AQRO examinations?

If you are sitting the examinations through an accredited training organization, the costs of the exams are generally included in the course fee. APMG International uses a global pricing structure, so for those sitting exams at a public exam center, the cost is dependent on where the exams are sat. Are there any pre-requisites for the AQRO examinations?

There are no pre-requisites for taking the AQRO foundation examination.

What are the main publications for AQRO and where can I purchase them?

AQRO has one main publication supporting the qualification scheme, published by AQRO, called AQRO Stress-free and efficient Human Resource Management. This can be purchased from APMG Business Books at: www.apmg-businessbooks.com. Most AQRO accredited training organizations include the guidance as part of the course fee.

Which languages are AQRO examinations available in?

Foundation examinations are currently available in English and German only. Further translations will be considered subject to market demand.

How long will it take to learn the AQRO material?

As all candidates have different experience and amount of time available for study this will vary from person to person. We suggest you buy the guidance and have a look through for yourself before deciding how long you need to spend learning.

For those studying with an accredited training organization, foundation courses are generally delivered over 3 days. It is well worth investigating with individual providers, as many will offer tailored and blended learning solutions.

What is the structure of the AQRO examinations?

The AQRO foundation examination consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, with 25 marks (50%) required to pass. It is a closed-book examination to be completed in 40 minutes.

Foundation: You will need to score 25/50 to pass the foundation exam.

When can I expect the results of my AQRO Examinations?

AQRO foundation examinations can be marked on location after the exam, but this is down to the discretion of the invigilator at the time.

Your result will be sent to your ATO approximately 7-10 days after your exam date. Your ATO should notify you of your results so please contact them for further details.

If you did not take your exam through an ATO, your results will be sent directly to you via the relevant APMG International office approximately 7-10 days after the date of your exam.

When will I receive my certificate?

Candidates will automatically be sent an electronic certificate within two business days of their exam results being released. If you have not received your certificate within this timeframe please contact our Customer Interaction Team - servicedesk@apmg-international.com

Electronic certificates are environmentally friendly, but can be printed if required. It is also very easy to share them with employers and other third parties. APMG will send you a link to your registered email address. This link will take you to your Candidate Portal where you will find your electronic certificate(s). You can always access all your electronic certificates using the APMG candidate portal.

Sometimes, if you have taken your examination(s) via a Training Organisation, certificates will be issued based on the preferences that the Training Organisation selected when booking the exam. The Training Organisation can select either an electronic certificate or both paper and electronic certificates are provided to the candidate. The Training Organisation can also choose if certificates are sent to the candidates directly or via the Training Organisation. If you have been awarded an electronic certificate but also require a hard copy certificate, you can order a hard copy certificate for GBP 12.00. This is also the case if you re-order your hard copy certificate.

How long are the AQRO certifications valid for?

The certifications are not valid for a defined period and will not expire.

What pass mark is required to be eligible to become an AQRO trainer?

To be eligible to apply to become an AQRO trainer, individuals must achieve a score of 66% (33/50) in the foundation exam.

How do I find out if I scored enough to be eligible to become a trainer?

To find out if you scored enough to be eligible as a trainer, please email servicedesk@apmg-international.com noting your interest. A representative of the Service Desk will be able to advise.

How do I become an AQRO approved trainer?

All AQRO trainers must be "sponsored" by an AQRO accredited training organization (ATO). A trainer application must be submitted by the sponsoring ATO to their relevant APMG International office.

Can I use the AQRO logo?

Only organizations licensed to do so are allowed to use the AQRO logo. Such organizations include AQRO ATOs (Accredited Training Organizations) and registered partners accredited by APMG International.

How does my organization become an AQRO Accredited Training Organization (ATO)?

An organization wishing to become an AQRO ATO must first submit an application form to either the APMG International Service Desk or a regional APMG International office. The organization will then be subject to APMG International's ATO assessment process.
