A series of webinars aimed at providing insight into the cyber training, products and accreditation offered through APMG International

Cyber Lunch & Learn – Keeping Ahead of the Threat webinar series:

If you want to demonstrate cyber security best practices, implement a cyber security strategy, train as a cyber security professional or accredit your level of cyber expertise – then this webinar series is a great place to start . Click on the links below to see the full recording of each webinar.

In response to a global focus on cyber security and the recent occurrence of prolific cyber-attacks including WannaCry and Petya / NotPetya, APMG has recorded this series of bitesize webinars. With a combined 50+ years of experience, cyber experts Martin Huddleston, Head of Cyber (previously from Dstl) and Andy Taylor, Lead Cyber Assessor guide you through some of the products, training and accreditation schemes which APMG offers as part of their extensive Cyber Portfolio.

Part 1 – Watch now - Cyber Essentials

In the first of our mini-series, we look at how Cyber Essentials can help defend your business in understandable language – helping you to improve your resilience to future threats of this nature and demonstrate your cyber security best practice.

Part 2 – Watch Now - GCHQ Certified Training (GCT)

Never more than now, cyber security is top of the agenda. The UK Government has identified a significant shortage of skilled cyber security professionals and Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is working through the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to address this issue.

With the abundance of cyber security training courses on offer, it can be difficult for customers to identify highly competent delivery and good quality courses. GCT provides customers with a choice of rigorously assessed training providers, thus they can feel confident they’ll receive training that is consistent with industry best practice.

APMG is appointed as the independent Certification Body for GCHQ-approved cyber security training courses. APMG certifies the courses, the course material, the way it is presented and the administration processes surrounding GCT courses – forming a truly comprehensive assessment process.

In this bitesize webinar, Martin Huddleston, Head of Cyber at APMG and Andy Taylor, Lead Cyber Assessor discuss the scheme and its benefits both to organisations who want their courses certified and candidates who want to find a ‘GCT Certified’ course.

Part 3 – Watch Now - Certified Cyber Professional (CCP)

Do you want to gain independent verification and formal recognition of your IA skills and competence?

The Certified Cyber Professional (CCP) scheme was developed by the Information Security arm of the UK Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), and is delivered through the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). CCP is a certification framework for competent Information Assurance (IA) professionals.

Individuals can choose to be certified in one or more specified IA roles, at several levels of competency.

CCP certification will enable you to demonstrate to an employer that you possess the competencies, knowledge and skills needed to be an IA professional. CCP has been acknowledged as the UK Government’s standard for cyber security professionals. NCSC is the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Centre. APMG is working with NCSC to deliver the Certified Professional scheme.

If you are an experienced Information Assurance professional and would like to receive UK Accreditation for your competency in this field – then this APMG webinar on CCP is for you.

In this webinar you will find out the steps you need to take to become an accredited Certified Cyber Professional.

Part 4 – Watch Now - Cyber Defence Capability Assessment Tool (CDCAT®)

Faced with evolving threats and escalating risks, understanding and managing your organisation’s cyber defences has become essential to protecting your business. (CDCAT®) is a comprehensive way for organisations to assess their existing cyber defences, identify vulnerabilities and see what improvements should be made.

Its underpinning methodology was developed by the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), for the Ministry of Defence (MOD). Dstl is a government organisation dedicated to ensuring that innovative science and technology contributes to the defence and security of the UK.

Martin Huddleston, APMG’s Head of Cyber (previously from Dstl and the architect of CDCAT®) and Andy Taylor, APMG’s Lead Cyber Assessor will guide you through the CDCAT® tool and how it can help your organisation accurately assess its cyber defence capability in as little as 3 days.
