APMG International will be launching the PPP Certification Guide Q1 2016, which is fundamental to the new Public-Private Partnerships Certification Program. This certification program is an innovation of the World Bank Group (WBG), the Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Inter-American Development Bank, and the Islamic Development Bank and is partly funded by the Public Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF).
A team of PPP experts from across the world have authored the PPP Certification Guide, previously referred to as the Body of Knowledge. The PPP Guide will be available online as a free downloadable pdf from ppp.apmg-international.com, and can be downloaded by chapter, enabling candidates to select the chapters relevant to their subject area and study at their own pace. We are also redesigning the website to include more news and information on the program, to host the PPP Guide and to support the global PPP community.
Targeted towards PPP Practitioners worldwide the PPP Certification Program is suitable for those who would like to demonstrate their competence in participating effectively in a PPP team and enhance their career prospects.
Candidates will be able to download individual chapters and take exams for each chapter separately. On completing all the chapters successful candidates will be awarded the CP3P credentials as recognition to their knowledge and expertise in the field of PPPs.
The first module, PPP Introduction and Overview, is available free via online learning, enabling candidates to gain a basic understanding of PPP. Passing the exam for this module is a pre-requisite for higher level examinations in the scheme.
The PPP Guide has been authored by a team that has a diverse range of experience in PPPs, covering many global regions and with excellent networks in the public and private sectors. They have gone through a rigorous assessment process to be part of the team.
The PPP Guide will include eight chapters:
0. PPP Introduction and Overview;
1. Establishing a PPP Framework;
2. Project Identification and PPP Screening;
3. Appraising Projects;
4. Structuring and Drafting the Tender and Contract;
5. Tendering and Awarding the Contract;
6. Managing the Contract – Strategy, Delivery and Commissioning;
7. Managing the Contract – Operations and Hand Back.
APMG International is inviting applications from existing and new training organisations to facilitate the training aspect of this certification.
