TESTIMONIALS

I learned a lot and will be applying my new knowledge, not just on new client projects, but in my own company.

Veronica Marcano, Creative Director

I like that the theory behind the course is structured and well organized. In the future I hope that this would give me a broader perspective on the needs of the customer, how to handle their requests and all that for everybody's benefit.

Mariella Kandeva, Software Developer

The Handbook is excellent. It gives both model frameworks and practical guidance. It certainly helps to develop an agile approach to business analysis, very useful in the fast-changing environment of the corporate world.

Hendrik Biel, Senior Business Analyst

I really enjoyed the practical exercise component as it allowed me to immediately try the new skills that I had just learnt, and to practise these in an environment that was supportive. I have already applied many of my recently learnt skills in my role as a junior analyst on our project.

Helen Bruce, Business Analyst

The training and certification experience gave me a much greater understanding of an Agile BA's domain and I believe that was a large factor in facilitating my move into a permanent Business Analyst role.

Jonathan Toseski, Business Analyst

Personally, I applied the theory and methodology into my job immediately, which was very rewarding.

John Lykiardopoulos, IT Business Analyst

How can I train for the AgileBA examinations?

Training for AgileBA is available from our network of Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) which are assessed and certified by APMG International. Here is our full list of ATOs.

Do I have to receive training to sit the exam?

No, however attending a training course is recommended.

Individuals also have the option of self-study to prepare for the examinations. APMG-International administer online exam sessions, allowing those who self study the opportunity to sit an online exam from the comfort of their own home or office.

How do I sit the exams?

Most, if not all, AgileBA accredited training organizations include the examinations as part of the associated training course - please check with your ATO before booking.

For those who self-study, the exam can be taken anywhere in the world, from the comfort of your home or workplace, with online proctoring.  A proctor will access your exam as you take it to monitor the exam environment through your computer's desktop, webcam and microphone.

Once you have booked an exam, you will be given a registration email to schedule an appointment with your live proctor via our Candidate Portal. Our online proctoring system allows you to take your exam anytime as sessions are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information, please click here.

APMG also administers a limited number of public exam sessions at some of our regional offices. Click here for further information and to book an exam.

How much does it cost to sit the AgileBA examinations?

If you are sitting the examinations through an accredited training organization, the costs of the exams are generally included in the course fee. APMG International uses a global pricing structure, so for those sitting exams at a public exam centre, the cost is dependent on where the exams are being sat. To find out the cost in your region, please contact the APMG Service Desk on +44 (0)1494 452450 or at: servicedesk@apmg-international.com

Candidates must hold a valid practitioner certification in order to take the re-registration examination.

What is the main publication for AgileBA and where can I purchase it?

AgileBA has one main publication supporting the qualification scheme, published by Agile Business Consortium, called AgileBA® Agile Business Analysis Handbook.

This can be purchased from APMG Business Books at: https://www.apmg-businessbooks.com/.

Most AgileBA accredited training organizations include the guidance as part of the course fee.

Which languages is the AgileBA guidance available in?

The AgileBA Foundation guidance is available in English and Polish.

The AgileBA Practitioner is currently only available in English.

How long will it take to learn the AgileBA material?

For individuals self-studying it is almost impossible to say. As all candidates have different experiences and amount of time available for study, it varies from person to person. We suggest you buy the guidance and have a look through for yourself before deciding how long you need to spend learning.

For those studying with an accredited training organization, courses are generally delivered over 4 days (3 days for foundation). It is well worth investigating with individual providers, as many will offer tailored and blended learning solutions.

What is the structure of the AgileBA examinations?

The AgileBA foundation examination consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, with 25 marks (50%) required to pass. It is a closed-book examination to be completed in 40 minutes.

The AgileBA practitioner and re-registration examinations are complex multiple-choice papers, made up of 4 questions each worth 20 marks giving a total of 80 marks. The required pass mark is 40 marks (50%). The exam is 2.5 hours in duration and is open book (AgileBA Handbook only).

Why do I need to sit a Re-Registration examination?

AgileBA Registered Practitioner certification is valid for 5 years. Between 3 to 5 years after initial certification, Registered Practitioners are required to sit a re-registration examination to verify their continuing competence and knowledge in AgileBA in order to maintain their registered status. Beyond the 5-year validity the candidate’s certification will still be valid, however they will lose their ‘Registered’ status. Beyond the 5-year period, individuals will be required to complete the full Practitioner exam again in order to reinstate Registered status.

What are the pass marks for the AgileBA examinations?

The pass marks for the AgileBA examinations are:

Foundation: You will need to score 25/50 to pass the foundation examination.

Practitioner and Re-registration: You will need to score 40/80 to pass the examination.

When can I expect the results of my AgileBA Examinations?

AgileBA foundation examinations can be marked on location after the exam, but this is down to the discretion of the invigilator at the time.

Practitioner and re-registration answer booklets are marked at APMG-International offices and results released soon after.

Your result will be sent to your ATO approximately 7-10 days after your exam date. Your ATO should notify you of your results so please contact them for further details.

If you did not take your exam through an ATO, your results will be sent directly to you via the relevant APMG International office approximately 7-10 days after the date of your exam.

How long are the AgileBA certifications valid for?

The foundation examination is not valid for a defined period and will not expire.

Candidates who pass the practitioner exam are recognized as ‘AgileBA Registered Practitioners'. Individuals will remain 'Registered' for a period of 5 years. To maintain Registered status, practitioners must complete and pass an AgileBA re-registration examination within 3-5 years following their initial/previous practitioner certification.

What pass mark is required to be eligible to become an AgileBA trainer?

To be eligible to apply to become an AgileBA trainer, individuals must achieve a score of 66% (53/80) in the practitioner exam.

Trainers also need to ensure to maintain their ‘Registered Practitioner’ status and take the re-registration examination between 3-5 years following their initial/previous practitioner certification in order to retain their accreditation.

How do I find out if I scored enough to be eligible to become a trainer?

To find out if you scored enough to be eligible as a trainer, please email servicedesk@apmg-international.com noting your interest. A representative of the Service Desk will be able to advise you.

How do I become an AgileBA approved trainer?

All AgileBA trainers must be "sponsored" by an AgileBA accredited training organization (ATO).

Details of all AgileBA ATOs can be found here.

A trainer application must be submitted by the sponsoring ATO to their relevant APMG International office.

Can I use the AgileBA logo?

Only organizations licensed to do so are allowed to use the AgileBA logo. Such organizations include AgileBA ATOs (Accredited Training Organizations) and registered partners accredited by APMG International.

How does my organization become an AgileBA Accredited Training Organization (ATO)?

An organization wishing to become an AgileBA ATO must first submit an application form to either the APMG International Service Desk at servicedesk@apmg-international.com or a regional APMG International office. The organization will then be subject to APMG International's ATO assessment process.
