APMG International has launched the Unified Service Management (USM) certification in partnership with the SURVUZ Foundation.

A unified approach for service management

USM is a universal methodical approach for service management. It provides a management system for organisations to effectively manage all elements relating to service management such as its people, processes, technology or services based on a service management architecture.

The USM Professional Certification by APMG provides individuals with the knowledge and understanding to deploy the USM principles within an enterprise service management strategy no matter what existing practices are in place.

USM helps organisations save money by reducing complexity through a set of universally applicable principles

The tension between, on the one hand, the desire to utilize all technological opportunities and, on the other hand, guaranteeing excellent support for the business, has led to very different results in terms of maturity, costs, customer satisfactioncontinuity and, above all, complexity. Organisations that are primarily focused on technology have deployed the finest applications, but often pay a high price in terms of costs and complexity. Organisations that focus more on efficient support of the core business reduce that complexity and can limit their costs. The second group focuses more on principles than on practices.

Get certified in Unified Service Management (USM)

This certification has two levels - Foundation level and Professional. The higher level, Professional, is split into four subsequent roles:

  • USM Trainer (Foundation exam + assessment)
  • USM Coach (Foundation exam + assessment)
  • USM Tool Auditor (Foundation exam + assessment)
  • USM Product Expert (Foundation exam + assessment)
