Your competence in Security Architecture can now be recognised by the National Cyber Security Centre
From today Security Architects can achieve recognition from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), through the Certified Cyber Professional Assured Service.
In June 2021 the Certified Cyber Professional recognition relaunched to recognise specialisms, starting with Risk Management specialists. Previously, individuals were certified against cyber security roles and the NCSC modified the scheme in response to feedback from Cyber Security professionals and the industry.
APMG International worked closely with the NCSC to pilot both specialisms. We were selected to run the pilot following a competition between the three Certification Bodies providing CCP. APMG is delighted to have contributed to the launch of the Security Architecture specialism today and to the NCSCs efforts to build a community of recognised professionals.
Security Architects who took part in the pilot with APMG reflected on why they wanted to achieve CCP status:
- “No other certification will give you the opportunity to be tested and assured directly as a Security Architect by the UKs Cyber Technical Authority, the NCSC. For me it’s a real badge of honour that sits at the very top of my CV.” Charlie Webster, Senior Cyber Consultant
- “I chose the CCP security architecture specialism, as I wanted to provide assurance to stakeholders regarding my competence to provide advice on security architecture, within the public sector, in particular. The fact that CCP is associated with the NCSC is a bonus.” Eoin Murphy, Security Architect
- "Being CCP certified provides assessed assurance of my IA skillset and is a unique and rewarding step on the career ladder. CCP status opens doors to exciting and challenging IA projects that would otherwise not be available to me. Additionally ... certifications such as CCP that use verified evidence and interview panel assessments helps elevate me to stand out in the crowd." Wayne Evans, Senior Security and Systems Engineer.
APMG is a Certification Body for CCP, if you are interested in having your competence in Security Architecture recognised by the NCSC you can find out more information on this website page about CCP.
