75. How to become a Project Manager

Louisa Leung is a Managing Partner at Lifting Lanterns where she is a coach, mentor, consultant, expert, trainer and speaker in the Project Delivery space. She has previously been in roles like the National Head of Consulting Services and has successfully set up multiple Project Management Offices (PMOs) and implemented Agile frameworks for the likes of PwC, NBNCo, Sydney Water and Dimension Data. She has spent many years in senior managerial roles rolling out organisational change with valuable experience from both technical and non-technical aspects of IT in a variety of private and public sector organisations. She is a recognised guest speaker at forums such as PMI, IIBA, itSMF, meetups and many universities.

What’s your proudest achievement?

Being able to run a business whilst still being a proud mother of two little boys! Able to practice what I preach by applying Agile, Change, Project Management and Facilitation to my daily life.

Adrienne is a qualified Project Manager with over 20 years’ experience in a wide variety of project and programme roles. She is currently a Programme Manager for the NHS covering the East of England. Most of her project management work has been around Workforce and Transformational Change. She also owned and set up a successful Project Management Consultancy firm when in South Africa which is currently dormant with her move to the UK.

A business leader with 21 years in the IT Services industry leading technology delivery for fortune 500 clients. During this journey, Ashish has led global and complex implementations for SAAS and CRM products working with diverse and geographically distributed teams. Recently, Ashish has also explored the arena of transformation and process excellence and worked with a few large accounts to help optimize operations.

Proudest achievement?

• Being able to conceptualize and integrate a 3rd party compliance solution into an existing product suite in the Procure to Pay domain. The entire transformation journey was very interesting because I had also managed to integrate a language solution with another CRM solution to reduce language dependency in back-office operations.

Director of Opportunities. Tim has 24 years' experience with his team providing technical and user IT training and consultancy (mainly O365 related products), Project Management qualifications, AgilePM, APM PFQ, PMQ, Prince2 plus a range of Leadership and management workshops. Just before Covid a new Drone for Project Managers venture was taking off from PfCO pilot training to drone consultancy opportunities around the UK and across the world. Tim also manages and updates the IPSO FACTO Training business website, and delivers bespoke training with a colleague with an aim towards developing an SEO optimised online presence for those leaving the armed forces and starting a new career. Before all that Tim was part of the Trident Nuclear submarine program.

Tim's proudest achievement is remaining in business through Covid and continuing to do what he's passionate about.

Veronica's proudest achievement is retention into action. She prevented an important deal cancellation when acting as liaison and business advisor and counselor, bridging the cultural and background perspectives across stakeholders and teams for regional projects.
