Launching soon - The APMG PPP Certification Program Preparation exam

I have watched the development of the PPP Certification Program with interest, from its original conception in 2012. The following year the World Bank Group conducted intensive market research revealing strong interest and support for the program which led to APMG being selected to deliver and implement the certification in August 2014.
Having been closely involved in the program as Project Manager from May 2015, I have been delighted to see it has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2016, with candidates from 35 countries now certified at Foundation level. And in support of one of the Program's key aims of strengthening PPP best practice through a global standard of knowledge, six Accredited Training Organizations and two Affiliated Partners from around the world are now approved to provide both online and classroom training and consultancy services.
After passing the Foundation level examination, candidates can choose to take either one or both of the two higher level exams: Preparation and Execution. Candidates who pass all three examinations will be entitled to use the Certified Public-Private Partnerships Professional (CP3P) credential.
Preparation exam - launching in April
Building on the success of the program to date, I'm pleased to announce that the Preparation exam, the first of the two higher level exams, will be launching in April.
Based on chapters 2 to 5 of the PPP Certification Guide, the Preparation exam will test a candidate’s understanding of a PPP framework and application of PPP Project Identification, Screening, Appraisal and Preparation Processes in a given governmental context.
The exam is aimed at individuals involved in the development or implementation of PPP frameworks or the initiation and preparation of PPP projects, in either the Public or Private sector. It is based on a fictional infrastructure PPP scenario and candidates will be required to apply their knowledge of the PPP Guide to the given situation.
Classroom and online training
Candidates will be able to take the exam at the end of an accredited training course via our network of global training providers. The training course will typically be delivered over 5 days, and include time for candidates to sit the Preparation exam. We anticipate that Accredited Training Organisations will be able to offer Preparation courses and exams from April 2017.
The exam will also be available online from the end of March for candidates who wish to self-study. However as APMG will not be developing a free online training course for the Preparation exam, we strongly recommend attendance at an accredited training course in order to be fully prepared for the exam.
