We recently conducted a survey of learners who have achieved CP3P certification.

Before we get into the results, a bit of background on public-private partnerships and the PPP certification program.

What are public-private partnerships?

Public-private partnerships (PPPs) have become an increasingly popular approach to societal and infrastructure development, particular in developing economies.

PPPs involve collaboration between a government agency and a private-sector company that can be used to finance, build, and operate projects, such as public transportation networks, schools and hospitals. Financing a project through a public-private partnership can allow a project to be completed sooner or make it more feasible in the first place.

As with any major approach, methodology or frameworks, it’s vital that individuals involved in their planning and execution are equipped with the necessary knowledge, expertise and skills.

Developing certified PPP professionals to tackle infrastructure challenges

The APMG PPP Certification Program is an innovation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the World Bank Group (WBG) and part funded by the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF) with a shared vision of enhancing PPP performance globally.

CP3P is the definitive credential to demonstrate to your peers that your abilities are aligned with international PPP good practice.

The PPP Certification Program Guide

CP3P training and certification is underpinned by the PPP Certification Program Guide, referred to as the PPP Guide. It's the Body of Knowledge (BoK) on PPPs, helping public officials and their advisors to implement efficient, sustainable PPPs.

The PPP Guide identifies the underlying principles and the elements of good practice that are applicable in most circumstances in emerging markets and developing economies, while recognizing the need for local variations.

CP3P Foundation candidate survey

We conducted a survey of candidates that have recently completed CP3P Foundation study and certification.

The survey was conducted in late 2022 and the results overwhelmingly demonstrate how effective CP3P training and certification is at building knowledge, confidence and expertise amongst PPP professionals.

The results

Here’s a selection of key results from the survey:

  • 100% of respondents said individuals involved in PPP initiatives should consider CP3P training and certification to boost their ability.
  • 97% felt individuals involved in the PPP sector should consider CP3P training and certification to support career progression.
  • 97% felt the learning/certification experience has increased their confidence as a PPP professional.
