What is a AgilePgM digital badge?

Digital badges allow you to easily showcase your achievements online.

When you pass an exam - you'll instantly have the option to claim a digital badge representing your new certificate.

Your badge can be embedded on an email signature, website, social media or digital CV.

With just one click employers, customers and clients can easily view and verify your credentials and skills.

How do I claim my AgilePgM digital badge?

Once you’ve been notified that you’ve passed your exam - you will have the option to create a digital badge in APMG's Candidate Portal.

Visit APMG's Candidate Portal, view your exam results and select 'Create Badge'.

This takes you to the Credly website where the digital badges are hosted. You will be guided through the Credly account creation process.

Once you have created an account with Credly - login into the account and accept your pending badge.

What is APMG-International’s Agile Programme Management (AgilePgM) scheme?

AgilePgM addresses the needs of those working in a programme-focused environment that want to be agile and equally those working in agile environments who wish to scale agile to the programme level.

Developed by the DSDM Consortium, the new certification provides the ability to deliver Agile Programmes in organizations requiring standards, rigour and visibility around Programme Management, while at the same time enabling the fast pace, change and empowerment provided by Agile.

The course will:

Lay the foundations for successful agile programmes
Explain how an agile programme can be planned and managed
Clarify the different management styles needed for successful agile programmes (compared to "traditional" programmes)
Provide integration with Managing Successful Programmes®.

How can I train for the AgilePgM examination?

Training for AgilePgM is available from the network of Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) which are assessed and certified by APMG-International. The full list of AgilePgM ATOs can be found here.

Do I have to receive training to sit the exam?

No, however attending an accredited training course is recommended.

Individuals also have the option of self-study to prepare for the examination. APMG-International administer online exam sessions, allowing those who self study the opportunity to sit an online exam from the comfort of their own home or office.

How do I sit the exam?

Most, if not all. AgilePgM accredited training organizations include the examination as part of the associated training course - please check with your ATO before booking.

For those who self-study, the exam can be taken anywhere in the world, from the comfort of your home or workplace, with online proctoring.  A proctor will access your exam as you take it to monitor the exam environment through your computer's desktop, webcam and microphone.

Once you have booked an exam, you will be given a registration email to schedule an appointment with your live proctor via our Candidate Portal. Our online proctoring system allows you to take your exam anytime as sessions are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information, please click here.

How much does it cost to sit the AgilePgM examinations?

If you are sitting the examinations through an accredited training organization (ATO), the costs of the exams are generally included in the course fee. APMG-International use a global pricing structure, so for those sitting exams at a public exam centre, the cost is dependent on where the exams are being sat. Are there any pre-requisites for the AgilePgM examinations?

There are no pre-requisites for taking the AgilePgM foundation examination.

Candidates must achieve a pass at foundation level before completing the practitioner examination. The DSDM Atern Foundation and Advanced Practitioner certificates are also acceptable pre-requisites for the practitioner exam.

What are the main publications for AgilePgM and where can I purchase them?

AgilePgM has one main handbook supporting the qualification scheme, published by The DSDM Consortium, called AgilePgM™ Agile Project Management Handbook. This can be purchased from APMG Business Books at: www.apmg-businessbooks.com.

Most AgilePgM accredited training organizations (ATO) include this handbook as part of the course fee.

Which languages are AgilePgM examinations available in?

Foundation examinations are currently available in English only. Further translations will be considered subject to market demand.

Which languages is the AgilePgM handbook available in?

The AgilePgM Programme Management Handbook is currently available in English only.

How long will it take to learn the AgilePgM material?

For individuals self-studying it is almost impossible to say. As all candidates have different experience and amount of time available for study, it varies from person to person. We suggest you buy the handbook and have a look through for yourself before deciding how long you need to spend learning.

For those studying with an accredited training organization, foundation courses are generally delivered over 3 days. It is well worth investigating with individual providers, as many will offer tailored and blended learning solutions.

What is the structure of the AgilePgM examinations?

The AgilePgM Foundation examination consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, with 25 marks (50%) required to pass. It is a closed-book examination to be completed in 40 minutes.

How long are the AgilePgM certifications valid for?

The certifications are not valid for a defined period and will not expire.

When can I expect the results of my AgilePgM Examinations?

AgilePgM foundation examinations can be marked on location after the exam, but this is down to the discretion of the invigilator at the time.

Your result will be sent to your ATO approximately 7-10 days after your exam date. Your ATO should notify you of your results so please contact them for further details.

If you did not take your exam through an ATO, your results will be sent directly to you via the relevant APMG-International office approximately 7-10 days after the date of your exam.

What is the pass mark for the AgilePgM examination?

Pass marks for the AgilePgM examination is: Foundation: You will need to score 25/50 to pass the foundation exam.

What pass mark is required to be eligible to become an AgilePgM trainer?

To be eligible to apply to become an AgilePgM trainer, individuals must achieve a score of 66% (33/50) in the foundation exam.

How do I find out if I scored enough to be eligible to become a trainer?

To find out if you scored enough to be eligible as a trainer, please email servicedesk@apmg-international.com noting your interest. A representative of the Service Desk will be able to advise.

Can I use the AgilePgM logo?

Only organizations licensed to do so are allowed to use the AgilePgM logo. Such organizations include AgilePgM ATOs (Accredited Training Organizations) and registered partners accredited by APMG International. The APMG Swirl AgilePgM Device is a Trade Mark of APM Group Ltd and must not be used without prior permission or an appropriate license.

AgilePgM™ is a trade mark of the Dynamic Systems Development Method Limited, and must not be used without prior permission or an appropriate license.

How does my organization become an AgilePgM Accredited Training Organization (ATO)?

An organization wishing to become an AgilePgM ATO must first submit an application form to either the APMG-International service desk or a regional APMG-International office. The organization will then be subject to APMG-International's ATO assessment process

How do I become an AgilePgM approved trainer?

All AgilePgM trainers must be "sponsored" by an AgilePgM accredited training organization (ATO).

A trainer application must be submitted by the sponsoring ATO to their relevant APMG-International office.

What is the relationship with DSDM Atern?

AgilePgM was developed by the DSDM Consortium, whose Agile Project Framework has always been the only Agile method to fully-address the concept of an Agile project, and provide detailed guidance on how to manage and deliver Agile projects.

Agile Programme Management takes the DSDM concepts and thinking and applies them to Programme Management. Whilst the Agile Programme Management shows how DSDM projects can be incorporated into Agile Programmes, it is quite different from Agile Project Management and represents new thinking, combining the best aspects of traditional programme management with the agile mindset.

How do I access my digital badge and/or certificate?

You can always access all your electronic certificates and badges via the APMG Candidate Portal. Once you have logged on to the Candidate Portal, click on the ‘Badges and Certificates’ option from the menu bar at the top of screen. From here you should click on the ‘Create Badge/Certificate’ button. This will take you to the Credly platform to create and account and download your badge and certificate.

Step-by-step guidance is available to download from the ‘Badges and Certificates’ area in your Candidate Portal.

Electronic certificates are environmentally friendly, but you can print the certificate yourself at home or work, if required.

Can I earn PMI® PDUs for attending an accredited training course?

It is possible to earn PMI Education PDUs for attending third-party provider training (training courses not offered by a PMI Authorized Training Partner), as long as the training meets the requirements around the skill areas of the PMI Talent Triangle. Please check the PMI website (https://www.pmi.org/certifications/certification-resources/maintain/earn-pdus/education) for further details on how to record your PDUs and what supporting evidence is required.
