Courses addressing the principles and theory underpinning the Scrum framework – delivered by APMG and Agile Business Consortium accredited providers – and certification are available for both Scrum Master and Product Owner roles.
A Scrum Master is responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum - as defined in The Scrum Guide - by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules and values.
The Scrum Product Owner is accountable for maximizing the value of products and solutions developed by the Scrum Team.
Based on the latest edition of the official Scrum framework
Training and certification are based on the latest (2020) edition of The Scrum Guide. Developed by Scrum creators Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland, it contains the definition of Scrum, consisting of Scrum roles, events, artefacts, and the rules that bind them together.
Courses offer a combination of instruction and team-based exercises, purposefully designed to be less IT- and more wide business-focused.
Delegates will learn the role of Scrum Master and/or Product Owner, enabling adoption of the Scrum framework for more effective product and solution development.
Candidate survey results
We ran a survey of Scrum Master candidates in 2022 and here are some key findings:
- 100% of respondents either agreed or strongly agreed that individuals involved in product/solution/software development should consider APMG/Agile Business Consortium Scrum Master course and certification to support career progression.
- 100% of respondents felt the Scrum Master learning/training experience equipped them with skills and knowledge that they could apply immediately.
- When asked if individuals involved in product/solution/software development should consider the APMG/Agile Business Consortium Scrum Master course and certification to boost their ability, 100% selected “Strongly Agree” or “Agree”.

- No recertification requirements. APMG Scrum Master certification does not expire.
- Successful candidates are entitled to complimentary 3-month Associate membership with Agile Business Consortium.
