NCSC can help you find good cyber security training

Every business faces a dilemma when it comes to training.  Can we deliver it in-house, or do we need to bring in a specialist?  When seeking specialised training, the decision is even harder as very few people know what good looks like. 

The UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) recognise that UK plc had this problem when purchasing cyber security training.  There was a vast array of commercial training courses available, but it was very hard to discern between the good, the bad and the ugly.

NCSC could have introduced standard curricula but didn’t want to stifle innovation and agility by training companies.  Instead, they established standards of what constitutes good cyber security training and enabled companies to seek recognition of their existing courses to ensure maximum choice and availability for all.

The scheme is NCSC Certified Training.

When buying cyber security training you should buy NCSC Training as it fulfils all your needs:-

  • The course content has been independently assessed against NCSC standards. You don’t need to be concerned about its quality.
  • The trainers and materials have been assessed so you know the trainer is competent and the materials will be appropriate.
  • The market has a wide choice of providers, course styles and lengths so you will be able to find something that suits.

Courses are delivered in the classroom, online and blended and where appropriate include lab work.

No one size fits all so course content is categorised into two levels:

  1. Awareness level –to provide newcomers with a thorough foundation in cyber security
  2. Application level - in-depth content for professional development.
