DID provides a business information model, that organizations can use to identify and assess what best practices to use.  Providing guidance on how to build these best practices into a roadmap for your business, while retaining focus on the information needs of your business. The DID model will help you to assess the validity of the best practice(s) you use and identify the strengths and weaknesses in your approach. The model is independent of all other frameworks, including BiSL and BiSL Next which DID elaborates on. DID therefore offers impartial information about well-established frameworks, including COBIT®, ITIL® and TOGAF®, and provides advice on how to use their key features when designing business driven IT services. 

  • While the role of IT is to ensure information is stored and processed safely - effective business information management, which DID facilitates, gives an organization the ability to respond to specific business demands and make data driven decisions quickly. Improving business performance through more effective use of information.

This APMG certification has been informally mapped against the SFIA Framework to indicate the skills that are addressed and referenced by the certification. Although it is not yet possible to claim this digital badge, the indicative skills can be used to plan your professional development through assessing the skills you have and the skills you need for the role you want.

The Digital Information Design Foundation exam is available in English and Dutch.

Digital Information Design (DID) is a business information model canvas, enabling organizations to identify useful and widely used best practices and put them in a roadmap, whilst retaining focus on the information needs of the business. You can choose and use whatever best practice(s) you wish, as the DID model canvas will help you to assess the validity of your choice(s) and identify strengths and weaknesses in your approach.

The pass mark for the Digital Information Design Foundation exam is 26 out of 40 (65%).

The Digital Information Design Foundation exam does not expire.

No, candidates are not permitted to refer to the Digital Information Design Foundation book or any other materials during the exam.

For individuals self-studying it is almost impossible to say. As all candidates have different experience and amount of time available for study, it varies from person to person. We suggest you buy the manual and have a look through for yourself before deciding how long you need to spend learning.

For those studying with an accredited training organization, DID Foundation courses are generally delivered over 3 days. It is well worth investigating with individual providers, as some will offer tailored, online or blended learning solutions.

The structure of the Digital Information Design Foundation examination is below:

  • 40 multiple choice questions
  • 40 minutes duration
  • Pass mark: 26 out of 40 (65%)
  • Closed book (no reference materials permitted)

The Digital Information Design Foundation book is available in English and Dutch.

Since 2018, we are no longer registered for AXELOS qualifications and are unable to provide the certificates.  

If you received your AXELOS qualification before this time, you can contact customer service and upon providing your candidate number, ask if a copy of your certificate still exists in our system. 

Alternatively, you can reach out to IT PeopleCert directly with this request quoting your candidate number.  

If you do not have your candidate number, we can provide it to you. Additionally, we are happy to provide a letter of verification for any exams sat with us.

Your results will be processed 6 to 12 hours after your exam. You will receive an email confirming your achievement and inviting you to the Candidate Portal where you can see your official result. From there, you can create your account in Credly.com and access your digital badge and certificate.
