"After completing the STAR® program, my approach to my team changed. By not taking on activities myself... I found I freed up 40% to 50% of my time, and projects completed sooner," Lou Garriga, Director of Operations, Rubadue Wire
About the STAR® Manager Programme
The STAR® Manager programme will transform your people managers by helping them to adopt an Operational Coaching® style that favours using an enquiry-led approach in their day-to-day interactions with others. Creating a critical mass of STAR® Managers in different functions across your organisation will lead to the development of a coaching culture, where your people managers utilise a coaching mindset in-the-moment for the benefit of others they work with, and this in turn will lead to the creation of an EPIC® workplace - Engaging, Productive, Inclusive and Collaborative.
The STAR® programme gives managers the skills and behaviours needed to become exceptional people managers by learning:
- How to introduce coaching-related behaviours into your everyday management style and what makes this so impactful
- How asking powerful questions delivers better, longer-term results than telling or advising
- How to use the STAR® model for Operational Coaching® every day and in the moment
- How to use triggers to stop your habitual responses to situations
- How to ask more insightful and powerful questions
- How to give great feedback
- How to listen actively, and intuitively
- How to gain commitment from others and to follow up on the actions they agree
The Results
The results that can be achieved by the STAR® programme have been proven in a rigorous academic trial. In 2020, the London School of Economics (LSE) evaluated the impacts that the STAR® Manager programme could have on management behaviour as part of a UK Government trial.
The study covered 62 organisations in 14 sectors and LSE found the following was achieved within just 6-months:
- 74 x Return on Investment per manager on the programme
- 70% increase in the time managers spent Coaching
- Time learners spent Managing & Doing decreased by up to 22%
- Gross asset value of the organisation increased
- Recruitment increased
- Staff retention increased
