Lean IT Leadership - the new level of Lean IT certification aimed at professionals in IT leadership roles has launched. Lean IT Leadership is now the most advanced level of Lean IT certification offered by APMG. This new certification is positioned as a next step following the Lean IT Foundation or Lean IT Kaizen courses. Lean IT Leadership builds upon the knowledge and skills associated with the Lean IT Foundation certification.
Developed by the Lean IT Association (LITA) - Lean IT certification enables an IT organization to optimize the value of its Information Technology services and processes by adopting Lean Principles. The Lean Principles emphasize systemic thinking, problem solving, collaboration and behaviours to encourage the emergence of benefits such as increased customer value, elimination of waste and greater efficiency.
The Lean IT Leadership certification enables people working within an IT leadership role at all levels of the organization to demonstrate that they are capable of supporting and enabling an organizational transformation focused on the adoption of Lean IT Principles.
Troy DuMoulin, a Lean IT Certified Leader, Member of LITA Content Committee and VP, Research & Development at Pink Elephant, a professional training and consulting firm - explains why the new certification level has been introduced, “A key challenge faced by IT organizations is a current state culture predominantly focused on silo based objectives, reactive behaviour and a general lack of shared priorities and practices across technology domains.
“The Lean IT Leadership course focuses on the knowledge and skills IT leaders need to support personal development and the skills needed to build teams which value cross functional collaboration, systemic thinking and continual improvement.
“This course provides critical knowledge for Leaders at all levels of the organization who wish to enable, support or lead a Lean IT transformation.”
The Lean IT Foundation certification is a pre-requisite for candidates wanting to get certified in Lean IT Leadership. Lean IT Kaizen is not a pre-requisite – but understanding the Lean IT Kaizen role will prove advantageous for those taking the Lean IT Leadership certification. Driving and teaching continuous improvement constitutes a core task of Lean IT Leadership – one that is covered in detail in the Lean IT Kaizen course.
Training organizations can now apply to be accredited by APMG to deliver the Lean IT Leadership certification by contacting APMG’s Accreditation Team.
