APMG International, FluidRock Governance Academy and Candor Governance launch of the foundational level of the ISO 37000 Governance of organizations

APMG and FluidRock Governance Academy are proud to announce their partnership to develop new certifications relating to governance. The aim is to equip all levels of leadership in organisations with the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to build sustainable, value-creating entities for the benefit of all stakeholders.

The first course to launch, ISO 37000 Governance of Organizations – foundation level, was developed with Candor Governance. This course provides a foundational level of education for ISO 37000: 2021 Governance of organizations – Guidance (ISO 37000). This standard is the first to provide a common international language and guidance for the good governance of all sizes and types of organisations, no matter their location. The foundation level certification provides organisations and their employees with an understanding of the skills and knowledge of the governance conditions, governance principles and governance outcomes provided in ISO 37000.

ISO 37000 sets out guidance to help all governing bodies to clarify their organizations’ purpose and values, align the organizations’ strategies with this intent and ensure value is generated for all relevant stakeholders. 

Good governance enables organisations to perform effectively, behave ethically, and responsibly steward its, and the world’s, resources. It can lead to increased organizational certainty, effectiveness, and responsiveness which ultimately optimises the organization’s performance for the benefit of all Stakeholders.

Governance is becoming increasingly important to consumers who now demand transparency and accountability, and there is an increasing trend that customers want to buy from businesses which are ethical as well as performing well. These are the outcomes ISO 37000 identifies which can result from the application of the governance principles described in the standard.

The foundational level of the course is designed to help organisations understand the conditions, principles, and key aspects of practice for the good governance of organizations. By the end of the course students will be able to understand the roles involved in governance.
