To celebrate the launch of the House of PMO Essentials Certifications, House of PMO and APMG hosted an event on 25 January, in London at the Royal Institute of Great Britain.
Corporate and individual House of PMO members attended the evening which featured presentations from APMG Director Ellie Bowett, House of PMO Founder Lindsay Scott and QA Project and Programme Management Practice Director Ian Clarkson. There was also an informative talk from Parliament UK who provided a great overview of how these qualifications have assisted their PMO Professionals.
The House of PMO Essential certifications were borne from PMO community feedback and aim to enable people to be competent in any PMO role – with PMOs having evolved significantly since the launch of P30 in the UK 15 years ago.
Lindsay Scott, co-founder of the professional body House of PMO said, “We are excited to have launched this training and certification suite. The quality and robustness of the new qualifications could not have been achieved without the partnership of the leading accreditation and examination body – APMG International. Furthermore, APMG International’s network of accredited training organisations means these essential qualifications are currently available in Europe, South Africa, Australia and Canada.”
The suite of certifications launched, is made up of four training courses targeting the various stages in a PMO practitioner’s career. The House of PMO Essential courses are:
- Essentials for PMO Administrators
- Essentials for PMO Analysts
- Essentials for PMO Managers
- Essentials for PMO Directors
These training courses and certification will provide PMO practitioners with the essential skills and knowledge needed in their roles – enabling their organisations to effectively support projects and programmes. Which is perhaps why the launch event saw an engaged audience deep in conversation about the exciting future that lies ahead for PMOs.
